Sara Sanz’ oil and acrylic paintings are diverse in techniques however they all share a common denominator, showing the harsher side of life from an aesthetic point of view.

Sara Sanz' characters are based on comic books and pop surrealism. When first seen they convey a seemingly casual catalogue of attitudes, but a closer look shows the viewer a complex state of attitudes and behaviours such as fear, insecurity, rage, sadness and fleeting pleasures. The feelings are vital to the artist and her work as it fulfils the role of emotional therapy. The works become an escape route through which painful situations become bearable through the irony and the absence of formality in her paintings.

Sara Sanz has exhibited widely in her home country of Spain as well as in Italy, Germany, Switzerland and the UK.
