Bradley Macmath began painting around ten years ago when he first picked up a spray can and started painting graffiti. He experimented extensively with the properties of spray paint, starting with traditional large scale lettering work and eventually moving into photo realist painting and portraiture. Developing skills through painting large scale murals with numerous graffiti crews across the UK, Europe and Asia, in between studying Graphic Design and Fine Art at university in Bristol, UK.
Visiting Tokyo inspired the beginning of a new way of working in various mixed media. Bradley wanted to show people how vibrant and distinct the visual impact of being in Tokyo was by using a mass of collected imagery. He began experimenting with new ways of painting in a mixture of spray paint, acrylic, gloss and enamel paints. From this point he began incorporating a photographic feel through the use of image manipulation computer software, which incorporated into the work through printing and pigment transfer techniques.
