John's love and passion is within the field of abstract art. With an unrestrictive approach he creates passionate, colourful art, derived from everyday visual experiences. A large proportion is inspired by the bright Cornish light of St. Ives and the earthy tones of the Peak District, near Sheffield, where he grew up.
The dramatic use of colour & texture, illustrates his desire to capture the moment and create a reaction. With his very distinctive style there emerges a carefully constructed, unique piece of art.

His work takes days often weeks to complete. Layers of paint, gives history and meaning to the painting creating clarity, texture, tone and movement in its conclusion.

Although simple in appearance and pleasing on the eye, the art is complex and carefully crafted.  Contemplation and interpretation are words used to discuss his work.  It comes as no surprise that when viewing Johns' work, a Pandora’s box of images and colour open up in front of the observer. 

John is pioneering the rebirth of the abstract movement with breathtaking result.
