{Matt Wilde}

Matt has been exhibiting works within international galleries pretty much continuously since 2001. Matt works in an array of styles and mixed media such as shopping receipts, newspapers, charcoal, crayon acrylic and oil. He’s always keen to experiment with new mediums and ways of working.
His works are sometimes figurative, land and cityscapes (usually large in scale) always addressing the issues of modern city life all-be-it with a slight element of playful humour.
His work is influenced by surroundings, inner city life, commutes and struggles. Matt likes to capture moments and thoughts and the best way to do this is with quick drawings and brush strokes.
With a sketch you achieve something immediate and spontaneous and that is what he often aims for with a painting, allowing the viewer to be able to read into the work and the work is often heavily narrative. After quick sketches Matt builds upon layers of paint giving the work texture and depth.
Matt has many corporate clients including Revolution Bars, Styles and Wood, IM group, NHS, combined with many private collections in this country, The US, Germany, Greece, Dubai, Saudi Arabia and Ireland.
