Kirsty Mackay

Kirsty is influenced by Eva Hesse who obsessively worked with ephemeral materials hoping to find perfection and Georgia O`Keffe who painted the natural world encouraging meditative contemplation.

Although the work involves an understanding of the materials and its properties the combination of controlled manipulation juxtaposed with the uncontrollable reveals an abstracted but often recognisable colour field.
