Tatian Hatnean is a Romanian-born artist, born in 1984, whose formative years under communism and the scarcity of resources have profoundly influenced his artistic vision
After earning a bachelor's degree in electronics, Tatian relocated to the UK in 2015, where he currently works as a service engineer. The pressures of this demanding role led Tatian to seek refuge in art. As a self-taught artist, Tatian discovered a passion for pixel art, which has become a defining characteristic of his work.
Drawing on a long-standing interest in woodworking, Tatian creates unique abstract modern pixel-style paintings made from meticulously cut and shaped wood blocks. Each piece involves hours of cutting, sanding, painting, and varnishing each individual block before gluing them together to form stunning and distinctive artworks.
Tatian believes that everyone has an inner artist waiting to be unveiled and lives by the motto “small steps, big progress.” This philosophy is evident in his meticulous and thoughtful approach to each piece, demonstrating that even the smallest efforts can lead to significant achievements. With each artwork, Tatian invites viewers into a world where creativity flourishes amidst life's challenges, fostering a deeper connection between the artist and the audience.
