Description
Original Abstract Art
Oil on Linen
Mother and Child depicts one of humanity's oldest relationships into a single continuous stroke, the painting embodies the idea that the bond between a mother and her child is formed much before the birth of the child and exists as one unbroken flow of life, time, and energy. Through the language of action painting, this single movement becomes both image and metaphor.

Kamran Azim is a multi-disciplinary artist with a background in painting, animation, and filmmaking. After graduating from Delhi College of Art, he started his career as a visualiser and storyboard artist for advertising agencies. He soon developed a keen interest in 3D animation and moved to Mumbai after a brief formal education in the same. After working with prestigious 3D animation studios such as Maya entertainment and Trine animation studio, he ventured to do a post graduate diploma in 3D animation from Media Design School, New Zealand. After exploring the field in international territories, he moved back to India and worked as a freelance 3D generalist. He has worked across various genres of art, ultimately converging into a focused exploration of abstract painting since 2014.
Abstract painting offers a myriad of techniques for expression, with spontaneity at its core. His creative process involves the act of pouring a diverse array of colours onto the canvas, either in close proximity or atop one another. He is mindful of the resulting hues that emerge as they blend and spread across the surface. He employs various tools to manipulate the paint and achieve specific strokes, such as a squeegee or spatula for smoother outcome. In his approach, Kamran deliberately refrains from referencing external images, allowing the spontaneity of his mind to guide the creation. What captivates him most is the revelation of emotions mirrored through the interplay of colours and strokes, providing an authentic reflection of his feelings in that particular moment. This immersive process serves as the essence of Kamran's abstract paintings, inviting viewers into a realm where emotions are vividly translated onto the canvas.
