George Thornton Art is thrilled to welcome Emma Gibbons, the Glittering Queen of Pop Art (Lifestyle Magazine), for her first solo show of 2024, and her very first solo show in Manchester.
Following the overwhelming success in 2023 of her solo show BARBIECORE which featured in Harper’s Bazaar, Sky News and the BBC (to name but a few!), Emma has been hard at work creating a whole new body of work for us that is BIGGER and BRIGHTER than ever. Welcome to ‘Whipped’ by Emma Gibbons.

The show will see the return of Emma’s iconic pill-filled popsicles, brand new subversive slogans, hand-sculpted gelatos and the glossy new Self-Care Bears & cheeky Edibles. All crafted meticulously from tens of thousands of handmade resin & glitter pills. It really is a sight that needs to be seen to be believed! Creating her signature hand-made delights with glitter, neon colours and ultra-contemporary resin, this is a celebration of all things rainbow, glittering and seductively moreish.
With celebrity collectors including Margot Robbie, Gordon Ramsay & Zoe Ball, Emma is a true rising star within the contemporary art world. Enjoy this opportunity to come and meet the artist, and see her new collection of tantalising artwork in the flesh.
